The Subclass 191 visa, commonly known as the Permanent Residence (Skilled Regional) visa, was launched in November 2022 as a type of Australian visa. This visa is intended for skilled workers who have lived and worked in a regional area of Australia for at least 3 years on a subclass 491 or 494 visa and have satisfied specified conditions.
To be eligible for the Subclass 191 visa, applicants must have had a subclass 491 or 494 visa for at least 3 years and met all terms of that visa, including living and working in a regional area. In addition, they must show competence in English, fulfill health and character criteria, and have no outstanding obligations to the Australian government.
