VISA SUBCLASS 491

Starting on November 16, 2019, the Subclass 491 visa was introduced. This Skilled Work Regional Provisional visa allows qualified migration aspirants and their families to live and work in regional areas of Australia. The visa is initially valid for five years, and holders can apply for permanent residency through the Subclass 191 Visa starting in September 2022. Sponsorship for this visa can come from a regional state or territorial government or an eligible relative living in regional Australia.
